I've come to a sad realization...

I've seen the movie over and over. But tonight, I think I'll make it official. My life is equivalent (well, very similar) to that of Bridget Jones. SHIT.
"It is a truth universally acknowledged that when one part of your life starts going okay, another falls spectacularly to pieces."

Do I dare?

These are some of the trends I've been seeing that I'm reluctant to try...Give me some time and I may change my mind.
Oxfords. Yay or nay?

Long skirts. NOT too keen on this one...

Leather shorts. Love, love, love anything leather...just not so sure about the shorts on me.

Harem pants. I've already been tempted several times, but haven't gone through with it. Your thoughts?

I know, right? SO CUTE...NOT.
This one is a joke. The person who thought up this tragedy should be locked away...for a long, long time.

Give me your thoughts on these looks and whether you plan to try them or not.

howl-o-ween

My fall necessities.

I am dying for fall to get here. It is my absolute favorite season. Mainly because I love the clothes. When the transition from summer to fall begins in the stores, I am overwhelmed with happiness. I've started making some of my necessary purchases but there's still a lot I hope to add to my closet (which has gotten rather full this summer). These are a few of my must-haves.
I'm currently having a difficult time staying away from anything that is one-shouldered. I love this trend. And this dress above by Rachel Roy is at the top of my list. I'm in lust with the style and color. I could definitely get a lot of wear out of this piece.
A girl can never have too many pairs of leggings. These are JUST what I need for the fall. Riding pant inspired leggings. The leather panel along the inside makes these pants so edgy. I've seen them available in numerous places but I'm waiting for the perfect pair before I purchase. I'll most likely make my way to H&M for an affordable pair...they never fail me.
Boots are my guilty pleasure. I love them. I can wear them with anything, anytime of the year. Trying to choose my favorite pair for this season is out of the question. But...I did manage to choose this pair to share. Free People's website always has the perfect selection. How great are these? Absolutely LOOOOVING them.

Odie is losin' his precious marbles.

My little bitty boy (baby voice), Odie, is getting his manhood taken from him this afternoon. Everyone please say a prayer that it goes well! Of course, I am a nervous wreck. BLAH. He has to spend the night so I'll be picking him up tomorrow and obviously treating him to a Canine Cooler from the snow cone stand :)

Blog Name...

Soooo, I finally decided to throw together a page where I can start blogging. Been meaning to do this for a while. I thought I'd have a good amount of time to think of a cool, witty name for my page but all of a sudden, before I knew it, I was being asked to name this thing. My love for Penny Lane and her band-aids came to mind. Ever seen the movie "Almost Famous?" Because it is my absolute fav. The care-free character played by Kate Hudson is based on a real life "band-aid" who went by the alias of Pennie Lane.

I started Googling her and reading about her life. Pennie was livin' the dream. She thrived in the era of FABULOUS seventies fashion trends and hot, sweaty, rocker men that she followed from town to town. Pennie and her group of "Flying Garter Girls" put their ethnicities, beliefs and social differences behind them and joined together to support the music...the rock and roll, man. For that, I bow down. Pennie is an absolute legend. And that, my friends, is why my blog is titled, "the flying garter girl." :)

Cheers to my ladies, Marvelous Meg, Sexy Sandy, The Real Camille, Caroline Can-Can and Miss Pennie Lane.
